Simple with a Touch of Bulldog

Took a little trip to H&M this weekend!  I was super excited to find these black leggings.  They are faux leather and have booty pockets, yah!  I love wearing black faux leather leggings, but don’t always want to wear a shirt that covers my booty.  So having pockets is wondrous!  This entire outfit was under $30 (score)! The pants were $4, I didn’t even bother trying them on.  I sure do hate trying on clothes.  The shirt was a must, it had me at English Bull Dog!  I have an English bulldog named Tank.  They are the sweetest dogs!  Once you get past the slobber & toots, they are simply the most loveable dogs in the universe!  Black and gold is my go-to, so the clutch was a dead giveaway.  I almost bought this clutch a month ago, so once I saw it on sale, it was mine! The over the knee black boots were hand-me-downs from my mother in law, free, yes please!  When it comes to shades, I can never spend a ton of money since they get thrown in my purse and I tend to lose them, $6ish from Forever21.  I love me some arm candy, the pieces I am wearing are both from ILY COUTURE, Christine with Hello Fashion Blog and owner of ILY is a friend, so she is always passing amazing pieces my way, lucky me!

Sand, Speed, and Designer Wanna-be’s!

This past weekends adventure consisted of lots of sun, sand, speed and shades!  My husbands business involves Turbo Kits on RZR’s, so lots of our vacations consist of RZR riding, for testing, AKA playing!  To get out of the smog of Salt Lake City and into the warmer weather, we headed down to Vegas and St. George.  It looks as though a move to St. George may be in our future (crossing my fingers), we had to see what we would be working with.  I must say, mid 60’s in the winter, YES PLEASE!

If you don’t like animal print, you just can’t possibly be human, or at least a fashionable female human!  I love animal print, I typically choose leopard or cheetah over zebra.  But I just could not pass up on this zebra bag.  I added some spike detail to it, so some pictures have that detail, some do not.  I have decided to sell this bag, just to see what kind of interest it gets, as I am constantly trying to update my Etsy Shop!  If I don’t sell it soon, it will likely make its way over to my closet!

If you are anything like me, I am a sucker for skulls, spikes, spots, and sparkle!  We have a few of these skull headbands now in the ETSY SHOP!
I rarely do my hair, it is alway in some sort of a messy bun, top knot, or pony, so adding a headband is just what I need sometimes!

I have learned a lot about what works for me over the past 5 years, from eating whatever I wanted and not knowing the difference between protein and carbs, to eating only “clean”.  I found that restricting so many foods from your diet can make it so much more difficult to stick to.  So screw the diet mindset, change your lifestyle.   It is good to find balance.  I have transformed my mindset, and haven’t restricted an certain foods, so nothing is off limits.  But whether or not I want to eat “unhealthy” is the question… I always feel so much better when I eat “healthy” foods, but to say that I never crave fries or chow down almost an entire plate of brownies would be a lie.   How I feel after is a whole other story.  I always feel like CRAP.  So it is my choice to typically eat “healthy”.  I can have the doughnut if I want it, but will usually choose not to because of how I feel after I eat.
I have competed in Figure and Bikini, and know all about eating out of tupperware, carrying around a can of chicken and hot sauce in my purse, to spending way to much time at the gym, we’re talkin twice a day.  I enjoyed the whole experience, but definitely created an unhealthy relationship with food and my body.  Once you are on stage and are so lean that you can see all your muscle definition and are at a crazy low body fat, you never want your body to look any different.   So you do everything in your power to keep your stage body all the time, but it is nearly impossible, not to mention a complete disaster for your body.  There were a few months that I didn’t have a period.  I only ate clean for months, but often found myself in the corner of my kitchen chowing down an entire jar of peanut butter.   After competing several times I decided that even though I loved it, I had to stop, at least until I create a healthier relationship with food and with my body image.  Both which are still in the works and will probably be a life long process!
I found it made most sense to me to look at nutrition with a Scientific mindset.  So a Carb is a Carb, whether it be healthy or unhealthy, your body views it the same.  But of course I feel better when I eat “healthy” choices.  I have made IIFYM my lifestyle.  (IF IT FITS YOUR MACROS).  Macros are proteins, carbs, and fats.  I have used this calculator to figure out how many of each I need a day, and adjust them according to my goals.  This lifestyle allows me to eat anything I want as long as it fits within my Marcros.  If you want more information see this website

I chose this lifestyle because I can eat whatever I choose as long as it fits in my Macros!  I no longer carry around tupperware, eat chicken out of baggies, annihilate my broccoli with “I can’t believe it’s not butter” spray, or eat my boiled eggs like it’s going out of style.  However I have learned how to have balance, I eat mostly “healthy”, but do not categorize any type of food as “off limits”!
Did I mention that I can’t wait until summer so I can enjoy the outdoors, instead of freezing my buns off?!

There are a few more Sparkle Sport Watches left in my Etsy Shop. I am trying to decide if this is a product I will continue to carry in my Etsy Shop, as well as carry over to my website I am creating. I would love some input. I would like to think that everyone has the same taste as me, because that would mean everyone has amazing taste (just kidding)… turns out, not everyone likes the same things as me!

My Journey and Fitness Tips!

I am no expert, but I have learned a few things over the years.  When I first started getting into fitness, which was in my teens, I had no idea.  The only thing I knew was running, my moms pilates videos, and not eating.  I honestly remember writing myself a sticky note that I placed on my mirror, which looked like this…


Anyone who knows anything about health and fitness, could tell me, that this was a recipe for disaster.  And it was.  Over the course of one summer, I exercised a ton, and would hardly eat.  Yet, I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t losing weight, or getting skinnier.  I would run almost everyday, then do pilates, sometimes 2 full videos, with additional push ups, sit ups, and jumping jacks before bed, all while not nearly eating enough.  This eventually sprouted into an eating disorder, I turned to bingeing and then throwing my food if I ever felt I ate too much. Thankfully my mother caught me throwing up after a few weeks, and put a stop to that nonsense! Boy do I wish I could go back in time and slap myself in the face!

Luckily I grew out of that terrible phase.  I began cheerleading in highschool, which didn’t leave me with a lot of time to sit and worry, which I think was the reason for my reckless summer, too much time to think.  I cheered all through highschool and college, then began coaching.  After I stopped coaching cheerleading, I felt lost.  I had always had an interest in fitness, and cheerleading was my fitness, but without cheerleading… what was there?!  That folks, is when I discovered the GYM!

I started at the Gym as any newcomer does… alittle bit lost.  I have come along way and as I look back at my journey I am happy for all the trial and error, the endless hours spent surfing the web for answers, and let’s not mention all the awkward people watching at the gym.  But if I can make it easier for someone on their fitness journey I am happy to help!  Now remember, I don’t claim to be an “expert”, but I am an open book!  Here is a list of some fitness tips I have compiled over the course of my fitness journey!

Hopefully these tips have helped you in some way!  Just remember that the only competition you should have is yourself.  Comparing yourself to others is not healthy, if you look at yourself negatively because of it.  You can’t compare yourself to someone you will never be… you will only be you.  Now focus on making the best you!


  1. If you are new to the gym, check out the classes that are offered.
  2. Less Cardio – More Resistance Training.
  3. Consistency is key!
  4. Learning to love yourself as you are, right now,  is more important that being a size XS.
  5. Everyone is different, find what motivates you, and USE IT!

Collections for my Dream Closet

Check out this collection from Adidas.  I feel like sometimes Adidas gets looked over, since the top brand is typically Nike.  Adidas has just as great a selection of activewear, etc, at sometimes lower prices.  Check out some of these times.  These are just some of the items I would love to purchase for my Activewear wardrobe.

Whenever I go to Target, I always sneak my way over to the Activewear section, there is typically something that I want to purchase!  I love this collection, it could be used as Activewear, or lounge wear!  To be honest, I would probably wear this out everywhere!

Another top brand with amazing products!  If you are looking for top quality, Under Armour is a great option!  Is it bad that I didn’t even know they made shoes.  They only have a few options that I have found, but they are cute enough to try out.  Add a little Armour to your fitness wardrobe!

Gap Fit always has very classy pieces, and I love their quality.   They typically have great sales.  If you are looking for some staple items, and want to get a great price, Gap Fit is a great option.  The only thing that I have noticed with their sizing, I typically have to go a size down in their athletic tops.
